How to Navigate this Blog

Resources Organized by SOL Components
There is one page for each component of the science standard (5.6). Each contains resources identified as closely related to that particular component. Some resources may appear on more than one page. Other resources that are relevant to the topic of oceans but not aligned with a particular component and found on an additional page labeled, "Other." Pages can be accessed at the top of this homepage.

Resources Organized by Type
All materials are labeled by resource type (ex. video, webquest, animation). A list of these resource types can be found on the right side of the homepage. Clicking on a particular resource type will present a collection of sources of that type. Some resources my appear on more than one page.

Please Note
Most resources were found within websites and are accessed through links. A few resources are available through Google Documents and PDFs; these documents are accessed through links to Google Drive pages.

Blog Post Layout
Most resource posts will be organized according to the following layout:

  • Standard related to the resource (ex. Standard 5.6; geological characteristics)
    • Sub-topics related to the resource (ex. The depth of the ocean varies. Ocean trenches are very deep, and the continental shelf is relatively shallow.)
  • Description of the resource
  • Link/Reference to the resource
  • Link/File Type to/of the resource (ex. Google Doc.)
